Apollo Tyres appoints HR leader for Hungarian plant
Tamás Tarnai has been appointed new HR Head at Apollo Tyres’ Hungarian plant, a state-of-the-art factory in Gyöngyöshalász currently under construction in a EUR 475 million investment, according to a press statement sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
Tarnai will be responsible for human resources at new facility, reporting to Csaba Mákos, Plant Head. Previously, Tarnai was as human resources and general affairs director at Suzuki Hungary; prior to that, he had more than nine years at Hungarian oil and gas company MOL. He was also at TROST Auto Service Technik, where Tarnai built up the HR function from scratch in a challenging post-integration environment.
“Tamás Tarnai’s rich experience in HR and in multi-cultural environments will be of immense value to Apollo,” said Kannan Prabhakar, managing director of Apollo Tyres Hungary.
“I look forward to playing a significant role to establish Apollo Tyres as one of the premier manufacturing facilities in Europe; to ensure Apollo has highly committed, well-performing manpower as part of our ‘One Family’. And beyond that, the availability of superior Apollo products in Europe,” said Tarnai.
