András Sávos named new DUIHK president

The German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK) has elected András Sávos as its new president, who will follow in the footsteps of Dale A. Martin, according to an announcement posted on the chamberʼs website.

András Sávos is managing director of Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems Budapest. He has been at the helm of the Munich-based Knorr-Bremse Groupʼs Hungarian subsidiary since 2015. The company develops and manufactures brake systems for rail vehicles with its 1,900 employees. Knorr-Bremseʼs Budapest rail system development and manufacturing center employs more than 500 engineers.
Dale A. Martin, his predecessor, was president of the DUIHK from 2013 until the May 7 membersʼ assembly, when the new president was elected. According to the chamberʼs rules, Martin was ineligible to run due to a six-year term limit.
Under Martinʼs guidance, the chamberʼs cooperation with the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) and the economic administration became more intensive, according to the website. The "TechCsajok" event series and the DUIHK Vocational Awards were also established under his tenure. Martin is president and CEO of Siemens Zrt.
