The celebrations for Hungaryʼs National Day of Hungary will actually start on August 19 and will include more spectacular fireworks, musical events, and an aerial and water parade, according to the official program.

One of the first events to start on Saturday will be the Hungarian Street of Flavors, running from the Várkert Bazár to Szilágyi Dezső tér, with the Visegrad 4 states as special guests. Besides specific Czech, Polish and Slovak dishes, visitors will have the opportunity to taste The Cake of Hungary (Magyarország Tortája), The Sugar-Free Cake of Hungary (Magyarország Cukormentes Tortája) and the St. Stephen day bread. The main stage in Clark Ádám tér will feature music stars Tóth Gabi, Szabó Balázs Bandája, Supernem, Tátrai Band, Ferenczi Györgyi & Rackajam.

Sunday, August 20 will begin with the official address made by President János Áder, followed a spectacular aerial and water parade starting at 10 a.m., including jumps executed by 24 paratroopers. Between 10 and 4 p.m., Parliament will be open free of charge to visitors.

The traditional National Day fireworks will start at 9 p.m., as usual, with 30% more visual effects promised than last year. The organizers recommend watching the spectacular event from the Danube shore between Margit híd and Lánchíd, but any spot is suitable with a view of Parliament.
