AmCham launches career orientation roadshow

Initiatives

The American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary has announced a three-part roadshow during March-April for its Career Orientation Program, launched last November. AmCham is asking member companies with local subsidiaries that are interested in the program to join the complimentary events.

The roadshow will take to Debrecen (231 km east of Budapest), Székesfehérvár (64 km to the southwest) and Pécs (208 km southwest), the Budapest Business Journal has learned.

The aim is to raise attention in local communities of the correlations between economic prosperity, stability and the future of work, with special respect to career orientation, focusing on STEM education.

The target audience of the events will be local city leaders, high schools, vocational training centers and institutions, local businesses and the press. Ultimately, the aim is to engage local SMEs as well as the largest employers in the three cities (and gradually nationwide), while also inviting local schools to sign up for the program.

The Career Orientation Program was initiated by AmCham Hungary to help prepare high school students for one of the most important decisions of their lives: choosing a career path. For detailed program and venue information, visit the website of the program.

SUPPORT THE BUDAPEST BUSINESS JOURNAL

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
Newspaper organizations across the globe have struggled to find a business model that allows them to continue to excel, without compromising their ability to perform. Most recently, some have experimented with the idea of involving their most important stakeholders, their readers.
We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
