Hungarians not spending on life insurance

While Europeans spend approximately €1000 annually on life insurance policies, the Hungarian figures for the same service is below an annual €150, the Hungarian Insurers’ Association (MABISZ) informed Hungarian news agency MTI yesterday, citing fresh figures from Insurance Europe.

Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark and the UK are the nations spending the most on life insurance, at an average of €3,000-3,500, while Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria or Latvia pay less than €100. Hungarian insurance companies generated a revenue of HUF 810.2 bln last year, including HUF 432.7 bln forints from life insurance policies.
