Hungary's Roatex, which provides customized electronic toll payment solutions, has won a tender to build and operate Indonesia's motorway toll collection system through an investment of HUF 103 billion, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in Jakarta on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
This milestone investment will be the biggest technology export by a Hungarian company so far, the minister said.
Roatex will operate the road toll system, which will be fully operational from 2023, for 10 years under a concession contract. Indonesia has a motorway network of 2,500 km but has plans to expand it to 4,800km, Szijjártó said.
