Russian-owned Hungarian airlines Malév reports increasing business figures and market share.
Malév greeted its 3 millionth passenger on its scheduled flights 2 weeks earlier than last year. Passenger number in the first 11 months increased by 6% compared to base period, and growth of the business class was 10%. Market share of the company reached 48.5% by November, which is 3.5% higher than in the base period. Passenger number outside the main season grew considerably, by 8.5% and 16.3% in October and November, respectively. Due to the Malév’s membership in oneworld association, number of business passengers grew by 14% and 16% in the same months, respectively. Use of seats (the so-called load factor) increased as well, by 8.6% in November compared to base period. Most popular destinations include Amsterdam, Copenhagen, London, Paris, and Bucharest.
