Hungary guest nights down 5.9% yr/yr in July

Guest nights at commercial accommodations in Hungary fell 5.9% year-on-year to 2,892,000 in July after edging up 0.8% in June, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Friday.

Guest nights spent by foreigners fell 1.2% to 1,285,921. Germans accounted for 240,457 of these nights.

Guest nights spent by Hungarians fell 9.4% to 1,610,237.

Hotels accounted for 1,798,187 of guest nights in July. The occupancy rate at hotels during the month was 54.9%.

Total gross revenue of public accommodations came to HUF 26.457 billion in July, down 3.8% from the same month a year earlier after rising 1.8% yr/yr in the previous month.
