By this morning, seven thousand people had indicated on Facebook that they plan to support Hungarian teachers in their protests against the government with a demonstration that begins tomorrow at 3pm on Hősök tere.

Teachers in Hungary have been voicing protests and demonstrating since the beginning of this school year, and this latest demonstration may be one of the larger ones so far.

The teachers, and many parents, complain that KLIK, the centralized body that has been administering schools is broke, and cannot afford to pay for basic school supplies. Critics of the system also complain that KLIK promotes a politically inspired curriculum, which involves a lot of memorization and a lack of analytical thinking.

After gathering at Hősök tere tomorrow, demonstrators plan to march the length of Andrássy út and to rally again at Kossuth tér, outside the Parliament building.
