IKEA to extend opening hours because of Sunday closures
Home furnishings retailer IKEA yesterday said it will stay open an hour longer from March to cushion a fall in revenue expected after restrictions on Sunday business hours are introduced.
Legislation approved last year will force most big retailers to close on Sundays, starting in mid-March. IKEA will stay open from 9 in the morning until 10 at night on Monday-Saturday, an hour longer than usual, after the new rules come into effect. IKEA had revenue of almost HUF 41 bln in its business year ended August 31.
