End-of-session sell-off puts BUX in red
The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index tracked the movements of its peers in Western Europe for much of the session on Monday and dipped into the red on a sell-off in the last minutes of trade.
The BUX finished the session down 0.23% at 23,900.68 after spending most of the day in the green.
OTP Bank lost 0.37% to HUF 5,875. Turnover of the share was HUF 3.0 bln of a combined session total of HUF 10.1 bln.
Drugmaker Richter rose 1.76% to HUF 5,840, though also paring gains at the end of the session. Turnover of the share reached HUF 4.8 bln.
Oil and gas company MOL dropped 2.51% to HUF 13,600 on turnover of HUF 1.6 bln.
Magyar Telekom was flat at HUF 405 and turnover of HUF 482m.
Elsewhere in the region, Warsawʼs WIG 20 lost 1.24% and the Prague PX dropped 0.58%.
Western Europeʼs biggest indices also slipped late in the day: Londonʼs FTSE was down 0.61%, Frankfurtʼs DAX dropped 0.07% and the CAC 40 in Paris fell 0.27%.
