BUX closes higher tracking European peers

The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index was up 0.60% at 26,383.32 on Wednesday.

The BUX index rose steadily throughout the session as the share prices of three of the four Hungarian blue-chips showed gains.  

OTP Bank advanced 0.91% to HUF 6,458 on turnover of HUF 4.95 bln. from a HUF 9.30 bln session total.

Oil and gas company MOL lost 0.69% to HUF 16,535 on turnover of HUF 1.29 bln. 

Drugmaker Richter climbed 1.65% to HUF 5,550 on turnover of HUF 2.45 bln. 

Magyar Telekom rose 0.23% to HUF 445 on turnover of HUF 0.47 bln.  

The bourseʼs mid-cap BUMIX finished 2.04% higher at 1,675.14.

Elsewhere in the region, the WIG-20 in Warsaw gained 0.25% while Pragueʼs PX index was up 0.22%. 

Western Europeʼs major indices were up before the end of trading. The FTSE100 in London gained 2.69%, the DAX30 in Frankfurt was up by 1.58%, and the CAC40 in Paris climbed 2.24%.
