The number of dwellings constructed was down 4% in Budapest, while the number of residential construction permits issued in the capital saw a 73% increase, KSH said.

The proportion of dwellings built by individuals remained unchanged at 59% and dwellings built by enterprises was 39%, while 55% of homes were built for own use and 41% for sale, KSH said.

KSH data show that the average floor-area of homes put to use was 101 sqm, the same as one year earlier.
