Almost 100,000 rubber ducks were the poured into the Danube River from the Lánchíd on August 30 in a charity event organized by UNICEF.
Rubber ducks were available for purchase weeks before the event. Each duck was marked, and the first 100 people who retrieved their duck could win a prize. This is the second year in a row that the event has been held in Budapest, and it drew nearly twice as many donations as the first race: Last year 55,000 ducks were purchased.
