Output of Hungary's construction sector fell 2.4% in October from the same month a year earlier according to both unadjusted and workday-adjusted figures, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. The drop picked up after slowing to 1.2% in September from a 7% decline in August.
According to seasonally and workday adjusted figures, output fell 0.4% from September. The slight drop came after a 3.7% monthly increase in September. Output declined on the month both in July and August followed a steep rise of 12.3% in June.
In January-October, output was 2.7% down from one year earlier. Construction output fell 5.0% in 2008, dropping for the third year in a row. (MTI-Econews)
