Traffic is back to normal in central Budapest and Elisabeth Bridge has been reopened for traffic, a spokesperson of the Budapest transport company (BKV Zrt) said on Tuesday.

Buses crossing the central areas of the city are again running on their normal routes, but the metro still does not stop at Kossuth Square near parliament, the spokesperson said. The pavements have been cleaned and debris moved to the side of the streets in central Budapest where riots took place during the early hours of the day. During last night disturbances, emergency services treated over 100 people for various injuries. The National Emergency Service spokesman said that they had had to treat nearly 130 people in all.
