Balatonfüred seminar on emerging political trends
The Tihany Center for Political Analysis has announced a seminar for students entitled “Political parties, tendencies and challenges in Europe in the 21st century,” running from August 30 to September 2.
The seminar will consider a selection of current political developments. Main topics will include Britain’s emerging divisions, with Brexit shedding light on the sharp divisions between the pro-EU and pro-independence camps; the rise of populism and populist leaders all over Europe and America; and how traditional parties such as the CDU in Germany may evolve in the future.
Participation at the event will be limited to 35-40, with the deadline for registration set as July 15. The seminar will be in Balatonfüred, on the shore of Lake Balaton, with the selection of lecturers still in progress.
The Tihany Center for Political Analysis was established in 2013 as an independent research institute, according to its own website. It has a wide range of activity dealing with issues important for Hungary’s sphere of interest and political environment, with a primary focus on Central Europe and relations with Hungaryʼs neighbors, and with special attention paid to Austro-Hungarian ties, the website adds.
