About 15% of Hungarians said they have plans to be immunized against COVID-19 when a vaccine becomes available locally, a survey by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) conducted in the first week of December shows.

Around 21% of the respondents said they didn't know if they planned to be vaccinated or didn't wish to answer, and 28% answered "maybe".

Close to 36% said they had no plans to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The ratio of Hungarians who said they have definite plans to be immunized was highest, at just over 23%, among people aged 65-74.

A little more than half of respondents said their stand on vaccination was influenced, to a medium or large degree, by the severity of the pandemic and the number of COVID-19 deaths. So far, some 8,462 people in Hungary have fallen victim to the virus, according to koronavirus.gov.hu.
