Auchan raises wages 5.6%

The local unit of French supermarket chain Auchan is raising the wages of non-management staff by 5.6%, on average, from March 1, Auchan Retail Hungary said yesterday, according to piacesprofit.hu.

Entry-level wages will rise by 6.2% to gross monthly HUF 260,000. 

Wages could rise again in the second half of the year, depending on individual performance as well as overall targets achieved by the business, Auchan Retail Hungary said. 

From July, an in-store baker could earn up to gross HUF 395,000 a month, while a deliveryman for Auchan's webshop could make as much as HUF 514,000. 

Hungarians working full time in commerce earned a gross monthly HUF 372,600, on average, in October, according to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
