The town of Nagymányok (SW Hungary) is spending HUF 490 million to convert an old briquette factory into a logistics base and add infrastructure to its industrial park, Mayor Béla Karl told state news wire MTI.
European Union and state grant money is covering HUF 80 mln of the cost of the project. The brownfield investment at the 7.6-hectare industrial site will be completed by 2020. By 2019, the city will expand the sewerage and water network at its 40-hectare industrial park and build a 1-kilometer bypass around it.
The new logistics park lies close to the industrial park, where companies employ 450 people. Karl said he expects the investment to add 1,000-1,200 to the townʼs population, which stands at 2,300 at present.
