Forty percent of Polish automotive producers are afraid of Brexit, according to a study. Meanwhile, only 4% have taken proactive steps to counter the risks, for example by renting extra warehouse space, according to the 2019 MotoBarometer study by the Exact Systems company, Polish Radio reports.
Others are passively waiting for what will happen, Exact Systems said after evaluating sentiment in the automotive industries of various countries.
British, Czech and Slovak producers are generally better prepared for Brexit than their Polish counterparts, while Russian firms are less well prepared, the study found.
Exact Systems’ Jacek Opała said concerns over Brexit chiefly depend on how strong individual countries are linked to the British market. He added that Poland is one of the United Kingdom’s top five trade partners when it comes to cars and automotive parts, Polish Radio added.
