Graphisoft Park celebrates 20th anniversary with expansion
Graphisoft Park, which opened its gates for the first time in September 1998, has celebrated its 20th anniversary with a 20,000 square-meter expansion, lifting the parkʼs total area to 75,000 sqm, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

The facilities can now host more than 5,000 qualified IT experts and 1,000 students. Graphisoft Parkʼs perhaps most influential tenant, SAP, operating one of Hungaryʼs largest software development centers in the park, has claimed most of the new area.
The anniversary and opening ceremony was attended by Balázs Fürjes, state secretary for the development of Budapest and its agglomeration, who congratulated Graphisoft Park on the anniversary and told participants that Budapest could be one of the best major cities in Europe by 2030 due to such investments.
"The first 20 yearsʼ development-related work, the resoluteness of the founders, the achieved international status, the visible prosperity, and the educational and directorial work has accumulated a set of moral and material values that can fill every involved person with confidence in Graphisoft Park," said Óbuda-Békásmegyer Mayor Balázs Bús.
According to the press release, Graphisoft Parkʼs main goal during the expansion was taking the comfort of its tenants and workers into account.
"Graphisoft Park was built with an approach that makes a young talent coming for a job interview fall in love with the location, and refuse leaving even if headhunters make a better offer later on," said Gábor Bojár, founder and chairman of the board.
Graphisoft Park was established through a demerger from Graphisoft SE, an architectural software development company, on August 21, 2006, according to the Graphisoft Park website. The purpose of the restructuring was to spin off a new company, dedicated to real estate development and management. The shares of the company are traded on the Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT).
