Budapest's Marriott Hotel is undergoing a €25 million renovation expected to last until the end of next year, business daily Világgazdaság reported on Wednesday.
The number of rooms at the hotel will remain unchanged at 362, but they will be bigger. The hotel's conference room capacity will also be expanded from 350 seats to 500, the hotel's new manager Robert Grader told the paper. The investment is one of several Marriott is making at its units in Eastern Europe, he added.
US hotel chain Marriott does not plan to open any more hotels in Hungary beside the two it operates in the capital, Grader said. Marriott bought the Hotel Duna Intercontinental, on the banks of the Danube, in 1993. It later sold the hotel but continues to operate it.
