Lead of Fidesz party shrinks to smallest in a year
The lead of the governing Fidesz party over largest opposition party, the Socialist MSzP in terms of popularity has shrunk, according to the latest survey by pollster Ipsos, local daily Népszabadság reported.
While Fidesz enjoys 23% support among eligible voters, MSzP would be chosen by 13% of them if elections were to be held this Sunday. The governing party still has a convincing lead with 800 more supporters than MSzP, but it is not so much regarding that six months ago the difference was over two million.
It also turned out from the survey that the ratio of voters keeping a distance from the parties is high; people are reluctant to go and vote and the respondents are not really interested in politics.
