Fidesz popularity down 10% since autumn
The governing Fidesz-KDNP bloc has lost 10% of its support since last November, but the party alliance is still far more popular than any other political side, the February survey of research institute Tárki shows.
Contrarily to data from earlier months, the decrease in the governing parties’ popularity does not correspond with an increase in the number of undecided voters. Instead, there was a slight growth in support for other parties.
However, none of the opposition parties could gain significantly more popularity, the survey said.
The proportion of Fidesz-KDNP voters in the whole Hungarian society slipped to 37% from 38% from January to February, while the proportion of those preferring the socialist MSzP increased to 11% from 10%.
