Hungary prosecutor ends investigation of MOL-INA affair

Hungary’s Chief Prosecutor’s Office on Monday said it ended an investigation of the "MOL-INA affair" because of a lack of evidence.

"Assessing the large amount of evidence obtained, the Chief Prosecutor’s Office has established that the criminal activities raised by the Croatian authority did not take place," the office said.

The Croatian authorities suspected bribes had been paid by Hungarian oil and gas company MOL to former Croatian prime minister Ivo Sanader allowing MOL to take over management of Croatian peer INA.
