Hungarian television to battle MTV for use of initials

Hungary’s state-owned television channel Magyar Televizió has launched a court action that if successful will prevent Music Television from using the MTV initials in Hungary.
“Magyar Televizió has been using MTV for years and in the interests of protecting this we have launched a lawsuit with the Budapest Court,” the television channel said in a statement. Magyar Televizió says it holds exclusive rights to the initials in Hungary and wants to avoid a situation where viewers could get confused between “the two completely different corporations, TV channels.” (m&c.com)
