Gaz de France to merge its units in Hungary

Gaz de France SA will merge its Hungarian natural gas distribution units Égáz Rt and Dégáz Rt to save costs.

The merger was approved at an extraordinary general meeting yesterday, said Jean Francois Carriere, Gaz de France's regional director responsible for eastern Europe. The aim of the merger is to save costs and “represent the French and Hungarian companies in a uniform way''. The two merged units will form a company to be named Égáz- Dégáz Gázszolgáltató, the newswire reported.
