Former Buda-Cash CEO in pre-trial detention

The Budapest Municipal Court decided yesterday to place Péter Tölgyesi, the former chief executive of Buda-Cash, a brokerage embroiled in scandal, in pre-trial detention, the counsel for his defense told Hungarian news agency MTI.
János Bánati said two other suspects in the Buda-Cash case had also been placed in pre-trial detention. The court could not establish at this stage the reason HUF 60 bln went missing at the brokerage, he added. The licenses of Buda-Cash and a number of small banks affiliated with it were recently revoked and a criminal proceedings have been launched.
