Announcement delayed for Kuria decision on FHB case
The Kuria, Hungary's Supreme Court, said it made a decision on the review of a contract defense case initiated by FHB Commercial Bank on November 26, but the ruling will be made public only after the bank is notified, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
The decision will be put in writing no later than eight days following the ruling, and delivered within three days after that. FHB said it did not yet know the content of the ruling. The bank had asked the Kuria to review a recent non-appealable ruling rejecting its defense of unilateral changes it made to borrowers' contracts. In both the first-instance case and the appeal, FHB also asked for the case to be brought to the Constitutional Court, but the requests were denied.
