MPs to decide on scrapping scholarship limits

Initiatives

Hungary's Parliament is expected to decide on Monday to eliminate limits on the number of full scholarships awarded to college and university students. MPs will vote on a motion to remove the limits from a package of proposed legislation related to next year's budget. Parliament's budget committee submitted the motion after Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Saturday that students who meet the criteria to matriculate, who are committed to their studies and who work in Hungary after graduation would be able to attend college or university courses free of charge.
