Hungary will become one of the biggest winners of the European Union’s Financial Framework for 2014-2020, approved by the European Parliament on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry told MTI.

The decision puts an end to three years of tough and complicated negotiations, the ministry said, adding that European lawmakers had confirmed, with minor amendments, the agreement reached by EU heads of state and government in February.

Hungary will receive €35 billion for cohesion policy and agricultural policy in the seven years to come. In terms of per-capita net position, Hungary will be second among the 28 member states of the EU, according to the ministry.
