Hungaryʼs new government sworn in

The ministers of Viktor Orbánʼs new government took their oaths in Parliament today, after receiving their appointments from President János Áder, national news agency MTI reported.

Returning to Orbánʼs cabinet are: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Without Portfolio in Charge of Hungarian Communities Abroad, Church Affairs and National Minorities Zsolt Semjén; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mihály Varga; Head of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister Antal Rogán; Minister of Justice László Trócsányi; Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó;  and Minister Without Portfolio in Charge of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant Upgrade János Süli.

Joining the cabinet are: Gergely Gulyás as Minister of the Prime Ministerʼs Office; Minister of Defense Tibor Benkő; Minister of Human Resources Miklós Kásler; Minister of Agriculture István Nagy; Minister Without Portfolio in Charge of State Assets Andrea Bártfai-Máger; and Minister of Innovation and Technology László Palkovics.

A new body in the government is the Prime Ministerʼs Government Office, which is in charge of governmental administration. The office has its own budget chapter and is overseen directly by the PM.
