So far, 104,000 people have arrived in Hungary from Ukraine, György Bakondi, the prime minister's chief advisor for internal security, said on public television on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Bakondi said on news channel M1 that over 80,000 of those arrivals came to Hungary because they are directly threatened by the war.
The United Nations projects over 250,000 people could come to Hungary because of the war in Ukraine.
Hungary's population is a little under 9.7 million.
