Russia to remain energy supplier to Hungary

Russia will remain a reliable energy supplier and good strategic partner for Hungary, outgoing Russian Ambassador Valery Musatov told national daily Népszabadság.
"Europe, and within that Hungary, can count on Russian oil and gas; we will remain reliable suppliers," Musatov said in an interview. Musatov, who will leave his post after five and a half years, said Hungary was an important strategic partner, both individually and as a member of the European Union and NATO, and hailed that, after a few years of strained relations, the two countries were once again fostering "full-blooded" bilateral ties, indicated by five top-level meetings over the past few years.
"Russia appreciates that Hungary pursues a more deliberate and more balanced policy towards it than some other states do," the ambassador said.
