Foreign tourist arrivals to Bulgaria soar in June

The number of foreign tourists who visited Bulgaria in June jumped to some 742,800 from 380,700 in the same month of last year, data from the statistics office showed on Tuesday.

Citizens of EU member states made up 49.2% of all arrivals of international visitors in June.

The arrivals of citizens from Romania increased the most among EU member states in the month under review, by 46.7% compared to June 2020.

Arrivals from Turkey formed 40.5% of all visits of tourists from European countries outside of the EU, the agency also said.
