EBRD wants to buy emission credits from Hungary
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) wants to buy €5-10 million of emissions credits from Hungary for Spain and Ireland, the bank’s Hungarian representative Zsuzsanna Hargitai said during consultations in Budapest on Wednesday.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will buy the credits on the condition Hungary use the proceeds for energy efficiency projects designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Ms Hargitai said. The EBRD will lend Hungary a further €40-50 million for the projects, she said. (MRI-Econews)
