Czechs drinking more alcohol, popping more pills since pandemic started
A survey conducted by the National Institute of Health warns that as a result of the pandemic Czechs are drinking more alcohol, taking more sleeping pills and antidepressants, according to a report by Czech Radio.
According to Petr Winkler, the head of the team that conducted the survey, the number of people who drink alcohol regularly to ease the tension has risen by 60% since the epidemic started.
Experts warn that the pandemic has created an environment of permanent stress and people's response to it may create long-standing problems.
