A household member spent BGN 1,681 (EUR 859) on average in the October-December period, while their income amounted to BGN 1,805, according to the statement. Wages and salaries formed 54.1% of total household income, followed by pensions and self-employment income with 30.1% and 6.2%, respectively.
Expenses for food and non-alcoholic beverages accounted for 28.8% of total household expenditure, while expenditure on housing cost 18.2%. Taxes and social insurance contributions constituted 12.9% of total household spending in the review quarter, followed by transport and communication services with 11.3%, the Sofia-based institute said.
