Albania's 11-mo budget gap widens

Albania's budget was in deficit of ALL 72.7 billion (USD 706.5 million) in the eleven months through November, compared to a deficit of ALL 11.1 billion in the same period of last year, official figures show, according to a report by SeeNews.

Consolidated budget revenue fell by 9.1% year-on-year to ALL 382.9 billion in January-November, while expenditures increased by 5.4% to ALL 455.6 billion, the Finance Ministry said. Tax revenue decreased by an annual 8.7% to ALL 359.9 billion, as value-added tax (VAT) proceeds fell by 5.7% to ALL 117.6 billion.
