Talks are underway on the establishment of a joint Hungarian-Kazakh fund to support the development of economic ties between the two countries, the press office of minister without portfolio Mihály Varga said, responding to a query by MTI.

The fund could be launched as soon as next year with a one-off capital injection or guarantee, or it could be financed continually, the office said. The sides are still discussing the potential size of the fund, it added.

The decision to establish the fund was taken during an official visit by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to Kazakhstan in May.
