Polish president to visit Hungary

Visits

Polish President Lech Kaczynski will pay a one-day official visit to Hungary on Tuesday to discuss cooperation in the EU and EU energy and neighborhood policies, Polish news agency PAP reported on Monday.

Kaczynski will meet with his Hungarian counterpart László Sólyom and Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány. He will also visit the Hungarian parliament. “Poland and Hungary are traditionally linked by good relations,” head of the Foreign Affairs Office at the Presidential Chancellery Mariusz Handzlik said. Handzlik added that Hungary was Poland’s significant economic partner. In 2007 bilateral trade totaled €5.4 billion. This visit will consolidate these good and friendly relations, he stressed. The Polish president shortened his visit to Hungary to one day from the previously planned two-day visit, the Presidential Chancellery said. (Xinhuanet)
