PM suggests banks could be replaced as lenders to SMEs

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Sunday suggested banks could be replaced in part or in full as a source of financing for SMEs.

"One of the government's biggest and most difficult challenges is figuring out how to find a solution for operating financing systems for SMEs that replace in full or at least in part bank lending, which is drying up," Orbán told Hír TV in Brussels during an EU summit.

Orbán said other European leaders had also acknowledged the slowdown in SME lending at the summit.
