Hungary PM to address European Parliament on Wednesday
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will address the European Parliament’s session in Strasbourg on Wednesday, Peter Szijjarto, the Prime Minister’s spokesman, told MTI late on Monday.
The prime minister requested the opportunity on Monday from President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek to address the Strasbourg session on Wednesday, when "the international left will seek to launch another attack against Hungary," Mr Szijjarto said in a statement.
The European Parliament will hold a plenary discussion on the the recent political developments in Hungary on Wednesday.
On Tuesday the European Commission is scheduled to complete a comprehensive review of the compatibility of several pieces of recently approved Hungarian legislation with those of the EU.
