Development Minister makes official visit to Israel
National Development Minister Tamás Fellegi discussed cooperation in the area of research and development and energy matters during a visit to Israel at the end of July, the National Development Ministry said on Monday.
Fellegi met with Israeli ministers as well as the heads of investments groups and of companies in the areas of IT, R&D and energy.
He agreed with Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Shalom Simhon that within the framework of the first joint industrial R&D cooperation tender between the two countries, the closing of the assessment of Israeli partners' applications is to be followed by steps to manage the Hungarian sides' applications without delay.
A joint committee is expected to take a decision on the applications in September.
The ministers agreed it was important to provide incentives for Hungarian researchers to make connections with the dynamic and practically-oriented world of Israeli R&D. They talked about technology incubators and the chance of introducing a network of such venues for start-ups to operate in Hungary.
Fellegi discussed pertinent questions concerning economic and policy cooperation at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Intelligence and Atomic Energy Minister Dan Meridor.
Fellegi also met with Minister of Transport and Road Safety Israel Katz, Communication Minister Moshe Kahlon and Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan.
