Ukraine Crisis: Over 530,000 war refugees arrive in Hungary

Government spokesperson Alexandra Szentkirályi on Monday said 530,587 people fleeing the war in Ukraine have arrived in Hungary, so far, state news wire MTI reports.
Speaking after a meeting of the National Humanitarian Coordination Council, Szentkirályi said the number of arrivals from Ukraine is higher, relative to Hungary's population, than any other country.
Hungary has a population of close to 9.7 million.
Szentkirályi said 7,947 of the arrivals from Ukraine have submitted applications for refugee status in Hungary.
