The PM made the remark while meeting with the newly-appointed Hungarian Ambassador, László Vizi, in Hanoi on October 15. He said that two-way trade between Vietnam and Hungary, which stands at $60 million, is below the two country’s potential for co-operation. He also expressed his wish that the ambassador would help further bolster bilateral co-operation.

Ambassador Vizi said Vietnam and Hungary are actively working on the establishment of a business council, aiming to accelerate economic and trade co-operation. He added that a joint committee of the two countries will meet in Hanoi in December this year to implement an agreement on Hungary’s preferential loans for Vietnam and to discuss co-operation in software and real estate development.
