"The talks touched on the dangers facing Europe, such as the economic consequences of the war in Ukraine, the unprecedented rise in prices and Brussels' flawed and dangerous sanctions policy, as well as the heightening migration crisis," Bertalan Havasi said.
The sides agreed that "European parties representing traditional values must come together to protect the nations of the continent in a time of danger and war, too". They also pointed out that "bureaucrats in Brussels and left-wing parties cannot be counted on to defend European people and families".
Orbán informed Le Pen of measures his government has taken to protect families, pensioners, workplaces and the regulated price system for household utilities as the war in Ukraine drags on.
Le Pen acknowledged Hungary's introduction of a corporate tax on "extra profit".
