Romania is interested to involve Kazakhstan in Nabucco gas project, said Romanian Foreign Minister, Adrian Cioroianu, after meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, as reported by KZ-today correspondent.
“Me with the president Nazarbayev discussed this question, and I have expressed the interest of Romania in Kazakhstan participation in trans-Caspian project Nabucco”, - he underlined. As known, Nabucco project was developed by five countries - Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Austria. It foresees the transit of natural gas via Caspian Sea bottom through Turkey to the European countries.
During the negotiations with the president of Kazakhstan, as stated the head of the Romanian Foreign Ministry, parties have discussed questions of bilateral cooperation in energy and economy spheres. In particular, he reported that “they have talked about oil and gas equipment and pharmaceutical production delivery from Romania to Kazakhstan”. According to official information, in 2006 commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Romania amounted $829,3 million. (gazeta.kz)
