Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, on forming his sixth government in a telegram on Thursday, the PM's press chief said, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The Hungarian PM called Netanyahu's return to the helm of government a "remarkable political achievement" and said his perseverance has "special significance in the difficult times we face".
Orbán affirmed Hungary's commitment to its strategic partnership with Israel and said it will continue to back Israel on the international stage.
"We are ready to strengthen further the close cooperation between our countries based on a common understanding of national interests," he added.
